Christopher Seow

Founder, Reflections of The Lord Mayor

Christopher Seow is the founder and driving force behind Reflections of The Lord Mayor, a not-for-profit platform that connects the City of London’s civic traditions with creativity, sustainability, and youth empowerment.

Since launching the initiative in 2014, Christopher has transformed a simple idea — preserving the reflections of the City’s Lord Mayors — into a vibrant civic and cultural movement that inspires leadership, learning, and inclusion.

Under his guidance, Reflections has:

  • Established the Annual Reflections Gala Evening, a highlight of the City’s civic and cultural calendar.
  • Revived the heritage craft of stained glass through the Stained Glass Roundel Design Competition, engaging professional artists, school pupils, and SEND learners.
  • Linked creativity with environmental responsibility through projects such as the Pollinator Awareness Art Project.
  • Enabled young people to achieve nationally recognised Arts Award qualifications in partnership with organisations including the Sea Cadets and St John Ambulance.

  • Strengthened its civic mission through the signing of the Armed Forces Covenant in 2025, reaffirming its commitment to supporting veterans, reservists, and the families of those who serve. 

That same year, Reflections of The Lord Mayor was honoured with the Armed Forces Covenant Bronze Award, recognising its ongoing support for the Armed Forces community and its inclusive approach to civic and educational engagement.

 Christopher’s work reflects his belief that the arts are not just about creativity, but about civic connection and purpose — helping young people see themselves as contributors to their communities.

A Freeman of the City of London, Liveryman of the Worshipful Company of World Traders, and Freeman by Gift of the Worshipful Company of Glaziers and Painters of Glass, Christopher bridges tradition and innovation with quiet conviction. He is also a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts (RSA) and serves as Associate Editor of the Journal of Hospitality and Tourism Research.
