About Reflections of The Lord Mayor
Archiving Legacy. Inspiring Stewardship. Empowering Creativity.
Our Purpose
Reflections of The Lord Mayor is a civic platform dedicated to preserving the evolving legacy of the Lord Mayors of London—individuals who serve not only as ceremonial leaders but as global ambassadors for the City’s values. Through storytelling, artistic interpretation, and youth engagement, we ensure their reflections on stewardship, diplomacy, and civic duty are archived for the benefit of current and future generations.
Each Lord Mayor’s story becomes part of a living treasury—shared publicly to connect people of all ages with the meaning of civic leadership in a complex, interconnected world.
Our Vision
We envision a civic culture in which legacy is preserved with integrity and reimagined through creativity. We believe that the stories of civic leaders, when shared widely and artistically interpreted, can ignite curiosity, nurture citizenship, and foster intergenerational learning.
Archive Reflections of Leadership
We document and present the insights of former Lord Mayors, curating a unique archive of perspectives on public service, the City’s evolving role in the world, and lessons in leadership that remain relevant across generations. These reflections form the heart of our mission to connect civic legacy with contemporary understanding.
Empowering Young People Through Creative Civic Engagement
At Reflections of The Lord Mayor, we understand creativity not simply as expression, but as a form of stewardship—a way to reflect on values, reimagine traditions, and inspire meaningful connection.
Whether designing stained glass inspired by the Lord Mayor’s theme, upcycling garments to promote sustainability, or producing videos on climate action and ocean recovery, each creative act becomes a civic act—encouraging reflection, responsibility, and dialogue across generations.

Through our longstanding partnerships with the Sea Cadets, St John Ambulance, and the Combined Cadet Force (CCF), we co-create hands-on opportunities for young people to engage in meaningful, imaginative work that builds civic awareness, personal confidence, and artistic skill.
Many participants pursue Arts Award qualifications—nationally recognised for celebrating creativity, leadership, and reflective learning.
Youth Collaboration
Through Creativity & Civic Engagement
Each project bridges the wisdom of lived experience with the imagination of youth—building a legacy that is both preserved and lived.
Fostering Partnerships for the Public Good
We work with civic leaders, educators, artists, and sponsors to design collaborative programmes that link legacy with learning and creativity with community action. Our partnerships help amplify shared values and cultivate a vibrant, inclusive civic culture.
Supporting the Armed Forces Community
Reflections of The Lord Mayor recognises the importance of service—both civic and military. Through our continued involvement in the Lord Mayor’s Big Curry Lunch (LMBCL), we support veterans' reintegration into civilian life.
We have proudly sponsored the Volunteers’ Breakfast, and on multiple occasions, supported a veteran through the LifeWorks programme, helping ex-Service personnel build confidence and prepare for meaningful careers after service.
In 2025, we reaffirm our commitment by dedicating our Gala support to empowering veterans through LifeWorks—honouring those who serve, both in uniform and beyond.
“These volunteers are the unsung heroes behind the scenes, and their warmth and dedication embody the very best of civic spirit.”
– Christopher Seow, Founder
