An Evening With
The Sheriffs of London
A moment to reflect on stewardship, and the civic journey that continues beyond office.
Friday 29 May 2026 |17:30 – 21:30
Sabine Rooftop Bar, St Paul’s
An evening of civic reflection returns.
An evening of civic reflection returns.
Following the inaugural Shrieval Reflections in 2024, we gather again in 2026 at the Leonardo Royal Hotel London St Paul’s for an evening of insight, conversation, and shared civic experience.
The evening begins with a rooftop reception at Sabine, overlooking St Paul’s Cathedral, where guests are welcomed with drinks and light bites. A bowl food reception follows later, designed to support conversation and connection.
At the heart of the evening are reflections from two Immediate Past Sheriffs of the City of London.
David Chalk and Alderman Gregory Jones KC will reflect on their 2024–2025 shrieval year, sharing personal insight into service, stewardship, and the experience of representing the City at home and abroad.
The evening opens with an address from Alderman Vincent Keaveny CBE and brings together a carefully curated group connected to the civic life of the City.
This is only the second gathering of its kind — a developing tradition focused on capturing civic memory while it is still fresh.

A Cause for Giving
From its inception, Shrieval Reflections has carried a charitable dimension. In 2024, £800 was donated from the inaugural gathering in support of The Sheriffs' & Recorder's Fund, continuing the Sheriffs' long-standing tradition of philanthropy.
In 2026, 3% of all ticket proceeds will support the Fund, embedding charitable impact within the structure of the event itself.
The choice of three carries a quiet symbolism. In Chinese philosophy, it is often associated with growth, harmony, and the unfolding of all things — a small but intentional nod to the hope that each gathering continues to build, connect, and give forward.
By attending, guests take part in a growing civic tradition — contributing not only to dialogue, but to meaningful support for those facing hardship.

The evening will be photographed and filmed. A recording will be made available following the event. If you would prefer not to be featured, please indicate this when booking your ticket.
