Giving Back

Reflections of The Lord Mayor embodies a spirit of giving back through contributions to Lord Mayor-nominated charities and initiatives that nurture the talents of young artists, artisans, and musicians. These efforts align with our founding aim to celebrate civic life and the rich cultural heritage of London, fostering a deeper connection between the City and its future generations.

SDG 4: Quality Education
We believe in the power of education to inspire the next generation. Through our artistic competitions, stained glass workshops, and Arts Award qualifications, we promote lifelong learning and ensure that young people have access to quality artistic and cultural education. By offering opportunities to explore creative disciplines, we help foster an appreciation for the arts while equipping young people with valuable skills for the future.

SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production
Sustainability is at the heart of many of our initiatives. From promoting craftsmanship to organising sustainable fashion shows and upcycling competitions, we raise awareness of responsible consumption and production practices. Our sustainable fashion show, in particular, advocates for eco-friendly approaches within industries like fashion, which aligns with the broader goal of reducing waste and promoting a circular economy.

SDG 13: Climate Action
Addressing climate change is a central theme in our creative work. Our projects inspired by Earthshot, such as photography competitions and our Reconnecting with Nature calendar competition, encourage participants to reflect on environmental issues. By using eco-friendly materials and celebrating nature through art, we emphasise the importance of climate action and environmental stewardship.

SDG 15: Life on Land
Through our photography competitions and thematic projects, we aim to deepen the connection between individuals and the natural world. Our focus on nature-themed competitions fosters appreciation for terrestrial ecosystems, encouraging participants to engage with and protect the environment. This commitment to promoting sustainable land use and biodiversity conservation is central to our efforts.

SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals
We believe in the power of collaboration. By partnering with organisations like Sea Cadets, St John Ambulance, and others, we amplify our impact and work towards shared goals. These partnerships allow us to reach a diverse audience, bringing together different groups to collectively contribute towards a more sustainable and inclusive future.

SDG 14: Life Below Water
In collaboration with the Sea Cadets, we are exploring opportunities to support SDG 14: Life Below Water. By integrating marine conservation themes into our artistic competitions and workshops, we highlight the importance of protecting marine ecosystems. We are committed to raising awareness about ocean conservation through creative expressions, from marine-inspired stained glass designs to photography focused on the beauty and fragility of marine life.

By aligning with these SDGs, Reflections of The Lord Mayor demonstrates a deep commitment to promoting education, sustainability, and environmental awareness through the arts. Together with our partners, we continue to champion these global goals, inspiring positive change in communities and across industries.

Our Core Team

Reflections of The Lord Mayor is run by a small team of volunteers who manage its day-to-day operations and longer-term development. Their behind-the-scenes work — spanning logistics, communications, partnerships, and programme delivery — enables the organisation to operate with clarity, care, and purpose.

Responsible for the direction and delivery of the organisation’s mission and vision. Establish and maintain effective formal and informal links with all stakeholders.

Community Outreach Manager

Coordinate School Liaison operations with LMReflects while supporting young people in their Arts Award journey as facilitators and mentors. Assess participants’ work using the toolkit’s framework and criteria for moderation across all award levels.

Alejandra Torres Castro

Compliance Lead

To manage voluntary best practice relating to professional standards. Report back to business functions on current risk and compliance performance. Oversee creating a culture of quality assurance and enhancement.

Siobhan Rimmer

Community Projects Lead

Promote artistic activities to support local groups and individuals using various art forms. Design and deliver engaging programmes and workshops for different communities, including Discover and Explore, Bronze and Silver for SEND, and Gold.

Zulima Fieitas

Marketing and Creative Communications Lead

Oversee social media and support brand and content campaigns.
Lead campaigns and projects across a range of social media channels, producing engaging content, analysing usage data, and building client relationships.

Julia Gonyou

Community Arts Facilitator

Support young people to work towards their Arts Award and act as facilitators/mentors.
Responsible for assessing participants’ work using the framework and assessment criteria in the toolkit in preparation for moderation (Discover and Explore).

Jayne Ford

Arts Award Adviser

Jayne Ford is a Manchester-based stained glass artist known for her traditional and contemporary architectural glass creations. Winner of the inaugural #LMReflects Stained Glass Artist Competition in 2017, Jayne is now an #LMReflects Arts Award Adviser (Discover and Explore level), inspiring young artists while continuing to create bespoke works from her studio in a historic textile mill.

Advisory Board Members

Reflections of The Lord Mayor is supported by a small, voluntary advisory team who provide guidance on the organisation’s direction and priorities. Drawing on their professional and civic experience, members offer thoughtful steer behind the scenes and, at key moments, practical hands-on support during delivery. Their contribution helps ensure Reflections remains purposeful, well-governed, and aligned with its values.
