Our three distinguished Lord Mayors worked closely together and even earned the sobriquet ‘The Three Amigos’ – so chose this as the 7th Reflections’ theme. They took to the stage together for a unique ‘triple hander’ and discussed wide-ranging areas that mark out the role of a 21st-century Lord Mayor of London.
From the spirit of Continuum to the essential modern-day work of promoting innovation, technology and the City’s role on the global stage, this was a fascinating opportunity to go behind the scenes. Wide ranging topics included The Lord Mayor’s Appeal and the Corporation’s hugely expanded commitment to philanthropy; supporting business markets and sectors across the UK and internationally; the important ‘Business of Trust’; and the Lord Mayoralty in the Digital Age.
Pressing issues marking out our three Lord Mayors’ tenure included the environmental agenda and climate change, an exciting new pan-Livery approach and – of course – maintaining confidence and continuity during COVID times.
